Our clients benefit from our in-house expert Dr Jerry Perrone, whose decades of experience in vineyard management, wine making, and analytics support a superior end product. Perrone Vineyards represents 4 generations of family grape growing and winemaking. Beginning in Old World Sicily and expanding into New World varietals, with family vineyards and wineries in California, Texas, and Michigan.

Dr Jerry Perrone  BIO

Upon retirement in 1994 from a career in mechanical engineering, Dr Perrone began growing grapes and making wine from only cold hardy varieties. Jerry licensed and opened the first vineyard and winery in Emmet County, Michigan and introduced many cold hardy varietals to the area. Despite skeptics, Dr Perrone saw the wine-making potential of the unique area North of the 45th parallel and South of the Straits of Mackinac. Jerry established his namesake vineyard and winery, Perrone Vineyards, to produce only the finest juice and concentrates. An acknowledged expert in viticulture an enology, he maintains a close relationship with dedicated growers, many of whom are former students. Short and long term leases are in place across Northern Michigan. Much of those earlier plantings are Valiant, Kay Gray, King of the North, and Sabrevois. Dr Perrone introduced Marquette and Frontenac varietals  to Emmet County and uses his doctorate in education to teach viticulture to the next generation of grape growers at North Central Michigan College in Petoskey.
